The best time to travel to Cape Town South Africa all depends on what you want to do while your there. You have a choice of the best cape town hotels scattered throughout the city. This town has such great temperatures all year round. It’s the wind and rain you have to keep an eye on. In the winter this area only gets as cool as 50 degrees. In the summer it’s as warm as upper 80′s. Most of the rain falls in the winter time. The winter time there is summer time in the United States. So July, August is when rain falls most in Cape Town.

If you happen to be there between September and January you may find yourself with some wind in your hair. There is a south-easterly wind that the area is known for. To find a break from it, get to the beaches of Clifton or Boulders. These areas are usually untouched by the winds and are the best places to visit that time of year. You could also escape the wind by taking a short drive to the wine country. It’s only about an hours drive away and has far less winds to worry about.

If you plan on spending most of your winter time on a beach then visit Cape Town area between February and April. If you want to get out and see the area and all of the wonderful sights go between mid-September and mid-May. There may be a few more showers at that time but that is ideal for cool mountain walks. You may want to avoid July and August all together. That time it can be just awful. When every you go for a visit make sure you take a walk in the Bo-Kaap. Rich with colors and culture. It is truly a must see.
