LA’s Famous Roads

Americans seem to have a love affair with highways and roads. The mystique of Route 66 and the appeal of the scenic drive are undeniable in American culture. For many, there is nothing better than to get behind the wheel of a car and head out to explore the road.

There is a way to combine a love of highways and roads with a trip to Los Angeles. Visitors can incorporate the ideas below in between trips to theme parks and other attractions, creating a unique LA experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Renting a car is necessary for the first two options. Cruising down Mulholland Drive is a must for anyone who loves scenic drives. In fact, this is considered to be one of the most famous scenic drives in the entire world. It encompasses the Hollywood Hills across the Santa Monica Mountains and winds down almost to the Pacific Ocean. Those that want an ocean drive will want to travel the Pacific Coast Highway , or PCH. The road offers stunning views of the ocean and access to beaches and other attractions.

Upon arriving at their hotel on the shuttle from LAX , visitors can take a cab to the Sunset Strip or Rodeo Drive to experience these LA landmarks in person. Walking the two miles of the Strip offers a view of the many faces of LA while window shopping (and people watching) along Rodeo is a one of a kind experience.
